How does booking group accommodation in Belize actually work?

Group leaders often ask us to hold a week while a committee decides, or while enrolment firms up. We will not do it, and it is worth explaining why rather than being vague about it.

We take one group at a time. If a week is set aside for you, it is unavailable to everyone else — every other group, and every individual traveller too. An unpaid hold means turning away real bookings on the strength of a maybe.

So the rule is simple. A 50% deposit confirms your dates. An enquiry does not, and neither does a verbal agreement or a purchase order in progress. The balance falls due thirty days before you arrive.

What we will do, and it costs nothing, is tell you if somebody else asks about the same week while you are deciding. You will not lose a week without knowing it was in play.

On cancellation: if you cancel more than ninety days before arrival, your deposit moves to new dates. Inside ninety days it is non-refundable. For an institution planning a year out, that ninety-day line is usually the number that matters.
